Mai i te wa tuaukiuki, he whenua huahua, he whenua makuru. Ā moho noa nei he whenua ranea tonu, ōtirā, ko ōna painga, kaua mā te katoa. Me hoki anō ki tērā āhua. Te kura nui, ki kura roa, te kura mō te katoa. Tērā ngā kōrero a ō tātou tupuna e kī ai, “he pai te whenua, he pai hoki ngā hua”. Ko te hua e kōrerohia ake nei, ko te hua tangata. Kia tika rā, te whenua, kia tika rā te whāngai, ā-tinana, ā-wairua, ka pai hoki tōna hua, taua hua anō, he hua tangata. Koia rā te whainga nunui. Tīhei mauri ora.

Tēnā tātou katoa.

The above mihimihi acknowledges the significant landmarks of North Shore and their importance to the iwi that connect to that area.

To help meet the need for more homes in the North Shore region, Kāinga Ora has a programme of work underway to provide more whānau with a warm, dry and safe place to call home.

Here you can find information about our planned developments in Kaipātiki and Devonport-Takapuna area, which includes the suburbs of Beach Haven, Birkenhead, Chatswood, Bayview, Birkdale, Northcote, Glenfield, Hillcrest and Totara Vale and Marlborough for Kaipātiki and suburbs of Sunnynook, Milford, Hauraki and Stanley Point for Devonport-Takapuna.

We are underway with a number of large-scale developments across Auckland, and the Northcote Development is one of these. The development will see around 400 old state houses replaced with approximately 1,700 new warm, dry, healthy homes over the next 8 years. These new homes will be built for state house customers, individuals and families who are purchasing a home on the private market. The development will also improve some of the existing streets, parks and public spaces. The development is aimed at supporting Auckland to grow as a modern, thriving, compact city.

You can find out more about our renewal and development work on the Kāinga Ora website.
